About

Carter Gau, CFI / CFII

Addison, Texas

I am a Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Flight Instructor–Instrument based in Addison, Texas, dedicated to developing safe, proficient, and confident pilots. With over 265 hours of flight experience, I bring energy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety into every lesson.

As an aspiring airline pilot, I hold myself to a high standard of discipline, preparation, and aeronautical decision-making. I carry those professional standards directly into my instruction, helping students build habits that will serve them well throughout their aviation careers.

My teaching philosophy is simple: every student learns differently. I adapt my instructional approach to fit the individual — whether that means scenario-based training, structured ground sessions, visual explanations, or hands-on repetition in the aircraft. My goal isn’t just to prepare you for a checkride, but to build strong fundamentals and real-world confidence that lasts beyond certification.

As a CFII, I emphasize precision and situational awareness in instrument flying. Having flown approaches to published minimums, I understand the importance of preparation, proficiency, and staying ahead of the aircraft in demanding conditions.

I provide instruction in both Piper and Cessna aircraft and offer:

Private Pilot Training
Instrument Rating Training
Commercial Pilot Training
Flight Reviews
Instrument Proficiency Checks (IPCs)
General proficiency and currency training

While safety is always the top priority, I believe flight training should be both professional and enjoyable. I bring high energy to every lesson and create an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to continuously improve.

If you’re training in the Addison area and looking for an instructor who takes safety seriously, adapts to your learning style, and is fully invested in your success, I would be glad to help you reach your goals.
